Discover the power of reflective writing as a creative and insightful tool for supervision in this engaging and interactive workshop. Designed to explore new approaches to thinking about client work and supervision, this session invites participants to pick up their pens and delve into exercises that stimulate reflection, deepen understanding, and encourage fresh perspectives.
Through guided writing prompts and group discussions, we will:
• Reflect on personal feelings about writing and how it can support supervisory practice.
• Explore creative ways to connect with clients, including those who have “disappeared” or evoke challenging emotions.
• Reframe client experiences through metaphor and narrative, fostering a deeper understanding of their stories and your reactions.
Participants will work both individually and in small groups, using writing as a safe and personal medium to express thoughts and feelings. Breakout room discussions will provide an opportunity to reflect on the process, share experiences, and experiment with taking on a supervisory role.
This workshop is for supervisors, supervisees, and helping professionals interested in enriching their supervisory practice through creative reflection. No prior writing experience is necessary—this is a judgment-free space to explore, reflect, and grow.
Key Highlights:
• Practical exercises to enhance reflective practice in supervision.
• Opportunities for self-exploration and group discussion.
• Tools to approach challenging supervisory dynamics creatively and constructively.
